I have gotten up to $150 dollars in trade-in credit in the past. Sometimes you can get up to 70% extra trade-in credit if you take advantage of the specials.
Sometimes when I have built up a massive collection of games, I wait for GameStop to have a trade-in special so that I can get more trade-in credit to use towards new games I want to play. If it’s a really good game that no one wants to trade, well…you might have to wait a long time.Ģ) Take advantage of trade-in specials at GameStop and Best Buy. Usually it takes about a week after a game’s release date for it to appear on the pre-owned shelf.
How great is that? The only downside of buying pre-owned games is that you can’t get them on day one of a game’s release. If you have a PowerUp Rewards card at GameStop, you save 10% on all pre-owned games and accessories. However, because I am a gamer with limited funds, I advise you to take advantage of purchasing pre-owned games. If I were a game developer, I definitely wouldn’t tell you to do this, as it would hurt me.
